ABOUT AEROWELD

Aeroweld Ltd was established in 1997 by Keith and Janet Pickering  (Parents of Tim and Tracey Pickering, with Tim being the current owner.)

Keith gained his aerospace welding qualification / certification at Field Aircraft , after 24 years service including an apprenticeship at BREL LTD. He had always wanted to work on site at East Midlands Airport so then took the vacant welding position on offer at Hunting Aviation at East midlands Airport. When Hunting aviation later ceased trading, Keith bought most of their machinery and rented a unit in order to form his own company Aeroweld LTD.

In 1998 Tim joined the company (son to Keith and Janet) having also completed a sheet metal apprenticeship many years before. Tracey, Tims sister joined the company a few years later.

Aeroweld has since gone from strength to strength, with one of the largest contracts being for the ‘Airship’ found on the home page. This aircraft was designed, built and flew within two years of manufacture. Aeroweld was tasked with manufacturing five engine cradles to hold the four diesel engines onto the ship and one for the test bed.  For this project (which was completed in 2012) we were issued with an award which now proudly hangs on our office wall.
